T. J. Hayes Dead

After an illness of about ten days, Thomas J. Hayes, one of our best known and highly honored citizens, passed away at the home of his daughter. Mrs. George Ryan on South Main street, Thursday forenoon at 10:20 o’clock. Mr. Hayes had held the position as local agent for the Chicago & Milwaukee & St. Paul railroad company for over forty years and was one of the oldest as well as the most efficient men in the employ of the company. He was a veteran of the Civil War and a member of the A. W. Drips Post of this city. No funeral arrangements had been made at the time of going to press. Obituary later.
