DIED
MAUDSLEY- At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Behn, at Hurstville, September 22, 1902, of cancer of the stomach, Mariner G. Maudsley, aged 68 years, 11 months, 2 days.
Deceased was a native of England and came to America in 1845 with his parents who settled at Nauvoo, Illinois. Two years after, they came to Maquoketa. Twenty years ago Mr. Maudsley’s wife died and since which time he has been a widower. He was a cripple, a quiet gentlemanly man of upright character and devoted to his family. Three daughters survive him, Mrs. Carrie England, of Clinton, Missouri, Mrs. Minnie McBurney, of Emporia, Kansas and Mrs. Ella Behn, of Hurstville. He was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church. The funeral took place from Owen Behn’s home at 2 o’clock p.m. Tuesday, Elder Turner of Clinton officiating and interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
