February 1, 1905Winnie Porter Tracy was born in Jackson county, Iowa, March 27, 1880. Of strong and athletic youth, yet disease laid hold of him in early manhood. With patience and courage he fought it but finally succumbed, and entered into his rest at San Bernardino, Cal., Jan. 16, 1905. May 24, 1901, Mr. Tracy was united in marriage to Miss Maud Messingham of Osage, Iowa. Their sorrow of married life, the loss of their child, is now his joy of reunion. Mr. Tracy leaves behind him his wife, father, mother and brother, all of Maquoketa, Iowa. Of quiet nature, good habits and exemplary manhood, Mr. Tracy was well known and highly esteemed by the many who knew him. His religious faith was that of Christian Science. A member of the Knights of Pythias, others join with them, in the present assemblage, which would show thus a final mark of sympathy and esteem to him who has entered into the other room of life. His brother Knights conducted him to his last resting place. Short services were held at the house then the remains were taken to the Congregational church where the sermon was preached by Rev. Danna. The Knights of Pythias taking charge of affairs and conducting the interment at Mt. Hope.
