Mrs. Justina Arensdorf was born in Germany, April 9, 1838, and passed away Jan. 18, 1925, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Edinger. She was united in marriage to John Arensdorf in 1856 in Galena, Ill., and moved to Jackson county were they since resided. Her husband passed away in 1890 and for the last ten years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. N. A. Heiar, of LaMotte, Ia. To this union fourteen children were born, ten having preceded her in death. Those who mourn her death are four children, Mathias Arensdorf, and Mrs. N. A. Heiar of LaMotte, Mrs. Paul Edinger of Maquoketa and Henry Arensdorf of Springbrook; one brother, Henry Linberger of Dalton, Wis, She also leaves 34 grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at LaMotte, Ia., Rev. Father Freidman of the Holy Rosary church, L. P. Craney of the Sacred Heart church and Peter Freidman of Sabula conducting the services. Casket bearers were Robert Cahill, Dan Horan, A. J. Till and Chris Clausen.
Other relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Heiar of Dubuque, Mrs. Thola, Mr. and Mrs. Lampe, Mr. and Mrs. W. Hayes, Mrs. Rolpff and Mr. Mootz of Bellevue.
Leaves Large Estate
The will of the late Mrs. Justina Arensdorf has been filed for probate with the clerk of the Jackson county district court, Charles Seda. The will provides that $7,000 shall be given to a son, Henry Arensdorf of Bellevue; $5,000 to a daughter, Mary Heiar, of LaMotte; $5,000 to Elizabeth M. Edinger of Maquoketa, a daughter; $5 each to seven children of a deceased daughter, Katherine Mootz; $100 to each of four children of a deceased daughter, Anna Roll; and the remainder of the estate, which is valued at not to exceed $28,000 real estate and $1,000 personal property, to a son, Matt Arensdorf of LaMotte, who is also named as executer. – Bellevue Herald
