Died.

HOOVLER – Hannah Anna Bauman was born near Andrew, Oct. 30, 1892, and passed away from this life to be absent in the body but present with the Lord. March 23, 1911, aged 19 years, 4 months and 23 days. She was baptized in the Lutheran church in this city by Rev. Giesendoffer, and was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Bellevue, Iowa. She was married to Mr. Francis Hoovler, March 30, 1910, by Rev. R. Comyn. Their short married life was one of blissful happiness and devotion to one another. Mrs. Hoovler contracted a cold which later developed into pneumonia, although all that loving hands and medical assistance could do, was done but of no avail. The master had called and she had to go. In her sickness she was patient, loving and kind and ever anxious that her health might be spared and that she be left to the companion whom she loved. But it was not to be so as death dared to lay its strong hold upon its victim and the light which was then just flickering went out only to shine more brilliant than ever in the home beyond death’s sea, where sorrow and tears shall never come, and the blessed Master has said he has gone to prepare for them that love him. The death of Mrs. Hoovler has filled many hearts with sorrow. Her short young life was a useful and helpful one to those around her. She was the light and joy of her home and the vacant chair causes a grief which no words can express. Mrs. Hoovler is survived by her husband, mother, seven sisters, and one brother and a host of other relatives.

The funeral services, under the auspices of the Odd Fellows and Woodmen Lodges of this city, Preston, Spragueville and Maquoketa, was held at the M. E. church in this city, Rev. R. Comyn conducting the services, and the remains enclosed in a handsome, pink couch casket, banked by the beautiful floral offering of relatives and friends, was laid to rest in the Andrew cemetery.
