Mrs. Henry Kriete Dies; Services At Monmouth

Last rites for Mrs. Henry Kriete, 78, of Monmouth, who died Tuesday in the Jackson County Public hospital, were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Monmouth Methodist church. Burial was made in the Monmouth cemetery. The Carson funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

As Marietta Anna, she was born Oct. 17, 1877, a daughter of Frederick and Isabelle Gibson Balster. Her husband died in 1941.

She is survived by two sons, Robert of Baldwin and Howard of Monmouth; two daughters, Mrs. Martin Snyder of Lost Nation and Mrs. Helen Petersen of Monmouth; two brothers, Ernest Balster of Monmouth and Delbert Balster of Denver, Colo.; and seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
