Orville E. Collins Dies; Last Rites Held Thursday

Last rites for Orville E. Collins, 60, who died Tuesday in the Jackson County hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Carson funeral home. The Rev. M. H. Nothdurft officiated and burial was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

He was born Mar. 12, 1895, in Maquoketa, a son of Timothy and Mary Taylor Collins. On Jan. 14, 1918, he was married in Maquoketa to Mabel Grover, who survives him.

Surviving also are one son, Marvin of Minneapolis, Minn.; four daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Simpson of Zwingle and Mrs. Velma Shady, Mrs. Vera Watters and Mrs. Cleo McCloy, all of Maquoketa; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jewel and Mrs. Lily Doty of Maquoketa; two brothers, Amos Collins of Maquoketa and Ervin of Savanna, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.
