Luella M. Whitmore Services Wednesday

Last rites for Mrs. Luella M. Whitmore, 91, who died Monday in her home in Maquoketa, were held in the Haylock O’Hara funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment was made in the Bridgeport cemetery and the Rev. G. Dempster Yinger of Dubuque officiated.

As Luella McCreery, she was born Mar. 25, 1864, at Adel, in Dallas county, Iowa, a daughter of Willington and Nancy Jane Foster McCreery. On Dec. 4, 1882, she was married in Maquoketa to Benjamin Whitmore.

Mrs. Whitmore was a member of the Methodist church and as honorary member of the Shilot Circle of the Ladies of the G.A.R. She is survived by two sons, Gordon of Delhi, Ia., and Truman of Dubuque; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Howes of Dubuque; and ten grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers and two daughters preceded her in death.
