Mrs. Rose Baker Dies on Monday; Rites Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Baker, 81, who died Monday in a Maquoketa nursing home, were held from Carson funeral home to the First Congregational church Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Bruce S. Dean, pastor, officiated and interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

She was born Aug. 29, 1874, a daughter of the late John and Caroline Roe, on a farm in Washington township. Except for two years, she had resided in Jackson county all her life. She was a member of the Congregational church 64 years.

On Apr. 26, 1899, she was married to Andrew J. Baker at Correctionville, Ia. He died in 1925.

Four brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
