Ruth Snyder

Ruth Snyder, 88, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Onslow; died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1993 at the North Brook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming with the Rev. Frederick Kramer officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 29 from 3 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Snyder was born Dec. 19, 1904 near Emeline to Ivan and Lillie Crabb Stowers. She attended school in the Maquoketa area.

On Feb. 25, 1925, she married Phillip Snyder at Clinton. They made their home on a farm near Monmouth. In 1934 they moved to a farm north of Onslow, where they lived until 1962 when they moved to a farm near Olin. Her husband died in April of 1971. She continued to live on the farm until 1975 when she moved to Olin. In 1977 she moved to Wyoming and in the fall of 1984 she moved to Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Gerald) Rockwell of Maquoketa; two sons, Robert Snyder and Stewart Snyder, both of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one grandson, five sisters and one brother.
