STOUDT – Phoebe Stoudt, daughter of Peter and Catherine Hill, was born near Delmar, Feb. 25, 1866. She grew to womanhood near the place of her birth and served faithfully in the homes of some of the neighbors until she was married to Daniel Stoudt, Feb. 16, 1888. All but one year of her married life she lived and labored in the home in which she died. Nov. 16, 1905, aged 39 years, 8 months, 21 days. A little girl, Helen Elsie, came to bless her home and life on Nov. 9th, but she was not permitted to enjoy the little one very long. She was a good neighbor, a member of the M. E. church at Delmar, a member of the Eastern Star of Delmar. Besides the bereft husband, and aged mother, four brothers and five sisters survive to mourn the loss of a loving and faithful wife, a dutiful daughter and affectionate sister.

Sunday Nov. 19 at 10:30 a large circle of friends and relatives gathered at the home and thence to Union church where last sad rites and early tribute were paid to the dead. The Eastern Star had charge at the grave and Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiated.
