Marshalline Lamborn

Marshalline Lamborn, 71, of Maquoketa, died Friday morning, Aug. 27, 1993 at Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Maquoketa with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

Visitation was from 2-6, Sunday, Aug. 29 at W. G. Carson & Son Funeral Home in Maquoketa. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Mrs. Lamborn was born Dec. 22, 1921 in Maquoketa to Glenn and Ethel Shady Davis. She married Clifton “Clif” Lamborn on Dec. 4, 1942 in Missouri.

She graduated from the former Maquoketa Junior College and taught in area country schools in 1979, she was the first woman elected to the Jackson County Board of Supervisors.

She was a former board member of the Jackson County Public Hospital as well as a board member of Jackson County Historical Society. She served as president of the Legislative Ladies League.

She was a member of the Maquoketa Women’s Club, the Terrace Hill Society and the Maquoketa United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong Republican and served many years on the Central Committee.

Survivors include her husband of Maquoketa, one daughter, Janet Parmater of Maquoketa, and one grandson, James Parmater of Maquoketa, who lived with his grandparents.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
