JOHN MCCLIMAN DIES
A Resident of Clinton County For Half a Century.

At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry O’Grady south of this city at nine o’clock Monday morning occurred the death of John McCliman aged 85 years.

John McCliman was born in Ireland and when quite a young man came to this country, settling in Washington township, this county, where he resided for over 50 years, moving to this vicinity, about three years ago. Beside the aged wife who survives him he also leaves the following children: W. J. McCliman, Mrs. M. N. Shannon and Mrs. J. J. Dunlavey, of Charlotte, Mrs. McGuire, of Sioux City; John McCliman and Mrs. Henry O’Grady of this city.

Deceased was a sturdy pioneer character having lived his allotted time upon this earth. He was a kind husband and father, a good neighbor and an exemplary citizen and was loyal to the interest of his church.

The funeral was held at St. Patrick church on Wednesday morning. High Requiem Mass being said by his pastor, Rev. J. F. Bowen and interment took place in the family lot in Villanova. – Delmar Journal
