William A. Watson, 88, died Thursday in Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

The Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Carson Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Rhomberg, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, offciating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Watson was born December 14, 1897, in Maquoketa, to Frank and Jennie Roberts Watson. He married Katherine Harkey. Following her death, he married Ruth Cooper. He married Mabel Ritz Mohr in 1977 in Maquoketa. Mr. Watson was a retired brick layer.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Bonnie Brower of El Cajon, Calif.; a step-daughter, Sally Woods Ralf of Hollywood, Fla.; a grandchild, a great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Pahnke of Davenport and Mrs. May Jones of Dallas, Texas; and a brother, Leo, of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his first two wives, three sisters and four brothers.
