Jackson Sentinel, November 5, 1903:
Ebenezer Crouch was born in Harrison County, Ohio, June 25, 1825, died Nov. 3, 1903, aged 77 years, 4 months, 8 days. He lived in Ohio until he grew to manhood and in 1851 was married to Sarah E. Sutton and immigrated to Iowa in 1860, and remained there until his death which occurred at Delmar, Clinton County, Iowa. To this marriage were born four daughters, Phoebe, Hattie, Sarah and Martha, the latter died 28 years ago. The deceased was converted to the Second Advent faith thirty-four years ago and joined the Second Advent Church. He remained faithful and humble, always on the watch tower waiting for God's son from heaven until his death. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church in Delmar. Elder John Said spoke words of comfort from the 18th chapter and 11th verse of Matthew to the surviving members of the family and a large number of relatives and friends who were there to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed. The remains were laid to rest in the Delmar Cemetery.
