Died.
WHITFIELD-In this city, on Friday, June 11, 1875, after a lingering illness with consumption, Martha M., wife of John Whitfield. Aged about fifty years.
Deceased was born at Idol, near Leeds in England. She had been a resident of Maquoketa about seven years. During her residence here she had endeared herself to a large number of friends. A husband and four children are left to mourn a loss no human means can supply. A large procession of friends, among them Masonic Brethern of Mr. Whitfield, and Sisters of Adah Family of the Eastern Star, of which Mrs. Whitfield was a member, followed the remains to Mt. Hope Cemetery.
