GEORGE WERDEN, 89, DIES AT MONMOUTH; FUNERAL HELD MONDAY

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Methodist church, Monmouth, for George J. Werden, 89, a prominent farmer of Monmouth, who died Oct 20 in his own home at Baldwin. The Rev. Berdine of Onslow officiated and burial was in Monmouth cemetery.
A son of Peter and Mary Bacheldar Werden, the deceassed was born Aug. 5, 1862 in Baldwin. He was marrried March 12, 1891 to Mary Ellen Orr at Onslow.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. Jake Ross of Maquoketa and Mrs. Zetta M. LaMotte of Monmouth; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
