LUKE FINTON DIES IN DUBUQUE TUESDAY

Luke Howard (Bud)Finton, 79, died Tuesday in Dubuque following a long illness.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 13, in the Carson funeral home with Dr. Max Strong of the First Congregational church in Dubuque officiating. Burial will be made in the Union cemetery. The Delmar Masonic lodge will have charge of the commital service.
Mr. Finton was born on March 10, 1871, in Clinton county. His parents were Marvin and Maria Potter Finton. In Des Moines on Oct. 21, 1904, he was married to Lulu Reynolds who survives. He was a retired farmer and was the originator of the Sunken Gardens south of Maquoketa. he was a 50-years member of the Delmar Masonic lodge, a Consistory member at Clinton and a Shrine member at Davenport.
Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Marvin, of Dubuque and two grandchildren, Howard and Linda.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Edna Schuldt, in 1930.
