MAQUOKETA — Joy Burke, 55, of Maquoketa, died Sunday at her home.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa.

She was born on July 13, 1952 in Gary, Ind., to James and Mary Alexander Alexander.

She graduated from Oxford Junction High School.

She married William Burke on June 13, 1998, in Bellevue.

She was a homemaker and worked with her husband on their farm.

She was a member of the Eagles Club Auxiliary and the Maquoketa Country Club.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Burke, of Maquoketa; three daughters, Karrie (Martin) Menster, of Davenport; Danielle (Arnold) Frasure, of North Judson, Ind.; and Desiree (Eric) Banks of Davenport; stepchildren, Patrick Burke and Andrea Burke, both of Davenport; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three sisters, Beverly (Cliff) Jones, of San Piere, Ind.; Betty (Chuck) Giertz, of The Villages, Fla.; and Margaret Block, of North Judson, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
