FUNERAL SERVICE HELD MONDAY FOR SHERMAN A. TUBBS

Funeral service was held at Harrison funeral home Monday, at 2:00 p.m. for Sherman A. Tubbs, 63, who died Saturday. The Rev. C. Edward Holyoke officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Tubbs, the deceased was born Aug. 17, 1882, near Maquoketa. In 1905 he entered mail service and retired in 1937. He was married Nov. 15,, 1913 to Belva Sutton.

Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Thelma Watters, Mrs. Mary Jean McPherson, and Mrs. Juanita Miller, Maquoketa; Mrs. Rayberta Dehning, Miss Darlene Tubbs, Donald and Cyril Tubbs, Davenport; four sisters, Mrs. Lena Hodgin, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ida Penrose, Mrs. Adeline Phillips and Mrs. Hattie Stange, Maquoketa; a brother, Fred Tubbs, Elwood, and ten grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.
