JAMES L. STEWART DIES; SERVICES HELD HERE MONDAY

James Long Stewart, 81, died at his home at 310 South Main street Friday morning.

Funeral services were held at the Stewart farm home Monday at 2 p.m. with burial at Mt. Hope cemetery. The Rev. H. D. Green was in charge.

Mr. Stewart was born April 11, 1868 in the community known as Union Center 10 miles east of Maquoketa. He was the youngest son of Robert and Nancy Clark Stewart, pioneer farmers of Jackson county, who migrated here from County Down, Ireland.

In 1905 he was married to Margert Belle Orr, and to this union two children were born. A baby girl died at birth, and the son, Willard C. Stewart, is now operating the home farm with his wife and two children, Roger and Nancy Jo.

Surviving in addition to the son and his family is the widow.

A brother, sister and half brother preceded Mr. Stewart in death.
