DENNIS F. LAWRENCE

The funeral was today in Miles Presbyterian Church for Dennis F. Lawrence, 66, of Miles. He died Saturday in Finley Hospital, Dubuque, of a terminal illness.

The Rev. Earl Ferguson officiated. Paul Eastland conducted Rose Croix Masonic services in conjunction with the funeral. Burial was in Miles City Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Pete Hass, Winston Corlis, Ted Wiggins, Harold Goos, Dan Smith and Noland Zugwaldt. Honorary pallbearers, all grandsons, were Chad Jeffery Lawrence, Christopher Dennis Lawrence, Darren Benedict Lawrence, and Matthew Thomas Lawrence.

Mr. Lawrence was born Sept. 20, 1917, in Jackson county, to Alex and Freda M. Thomsen Lawrence. He married Eleanor Beck on Dec. 30, 1942, in Maquoketa. Mr. Lawrence was a farmer in the Elk River Township, member and past trustee of Miles Presbyterian Church, member of Lyons Lodge 93 A.F. & A. M., Kaaba Shrine, Davenport, Jackson County Shernwheelers and Clinton Consistory.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pamalyn Kay Lawrence of DeWitt; four sons, Charles D. of Madison, Wis., Danny E. of Goose Lake, Denny A. of Clinton and Wayne T. of Mesa, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Freda M. Lawrence of Bryant; a brother, Lyle of Sabula; and four sisters, Mrs. Lorrian (Cecila) Gray of Miles, Mrs. Edith Rickertsen of Bryant, Mrs. Geralding Wilkins of Clinton and Mrs. Garent (Elsie) Eggers of Teeds Grove.

He was preceded in death by his father.
