ELEANOR LAWRENCE

Eleanor L. Lawrence, 69, of Rural Route 3, Clinton, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 1990, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Miles Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Preston.

Mrs. Lawrence was born Sept. 6, 1920 in the Codfish Hollow area near Maquoketa to Gottlieb and Meta Petersen Beck. She graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1938.

She married Dennis Lawrence on Dec. 30, 1942 at Maquoketa. The couple farmed in the Almont-Andover area near Clinton. Her husband died Aug. 11, 1984.

She was a deacon and trustee of the Miles Presbyterian Church, the United Presbyterian Womean Afternoon Circle, the Christian Women of Clinton and was active in other church affairs.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pamalyn Kay (Dave) Schroeder of DeWitt; four sons, Charles D. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Danny E. of Goose Lake, Denny A. of Clinton and Wayne T. of Mesa, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy (Harvey) Gruenwald and a brother, Glenn Beck, both of Maquoketa.
