MRS. SACKRIDER DIES TUESDAY
Mrs. Clarence Sackrider, 79, died at her home near Delmar at 7 p.m. Tuesday after an extended illness.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Harrison funeral home and burial will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery. The body was removed to the family home late Wednesday afternoon and will remain there until Friday morning.
Helen L. Leach was born on a farm southeast of Delmar on Jan. 18, 1871, a daughter of Emma Jane Woodhurst and Charles Leach. On Jan. 13, 1891, she was married to Clarence I. Sackrider at St. Mark's Episcopal church in Maquoketa. They made their home on the Sackrider farm where she has resided for the past 59 years. She was a member of the Delmar Order of Eastern Star, the Maquoketa Tuesday club and the D.A.R. chapter at DeWitt.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Schumann of Maquoketa, and a son, Wilfrid Sackrider, who resides on the home farm. One grandson, John Richard Schumann, also survives.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 4, 1948.
