MRS. AMELIA SWAN, 83, FUNERAL SERVICE HELD AT LOST NATION CHURCH
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday in Union Presbyterian church for Mrs. Amelia Cook Swan, 83, of Lost Nation, who died Wednesday afternoon following a brief illness in the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. L. Grundmeier, with whom she has resided for 20 years. The Rev. C. R. Olander officiated and burial was in Buckhorn cemetery, west of Maquoketa.
The former Amelia Cook was born Oct. 13, 1868, north of Lost Nation, the daughter of the late Marshall and Magdelena Cook. She spent her entire life in this community and was married April 18, 1893 to Wheeler Swan. They farmed near Nashville in Jackson county for 33 years. Sincer her husband's death she had resided with the Grundmeiers.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. E. L. Grundmeier and Mrs. Charles Graves, Baldwin; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
