CORA PHILLIPS, 82, DIES SUNDAY IN LOCAL NURSING HOME

Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at Carson funeral home for Mrs. Cora Belle Phillips, 82, who died Sunday at Gilmore home following an illness of 11 months. The Rev. Milton Nothdurft officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Pierce, the deceased was born April 22, 1869 at Fulton and had spent the greater share of her life in this community.

She was married in 1890 in Maquoketa to Rayburn Phillips, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, Floyd Phillips, of Chicago, and two brothers, R. M. Pierce of Maquoketa, and Edw. Pierce of Clinton. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
