OBITUARY
1879 - ROSE G. FARR - 1954

Rose Grace Farr the daughter of Matilda Keiser and Henry J. Becker, was born in Maquoketa, Iowa, Sept. 1, 1879, and passed away after a lingering illness, January 13, 1955, aged 75 years. She attended the local schools and the Maquoketa Businesss College and was employed as bookkeeper for several years, at the Kistenmacher Pharmacy in Davenport, Iowa.

On September 20, 1913, she was married to Charles W, Farr and since that time had resided in Maquoketa. Mr. Farr preceded her in death, October 17, 1929. Mrs. Farr was a member of the First Congregational church of this city; a member and Past Worthy Matron of Maple Leaf Chapter No. 175, Order of the Eastern Star; Past Chief of the Pythian Sisters; Past Pres. of the Women's Relief Corps and of which she was treasurer for 26 years, and was a member of the Athenaeum club.

She is survived by a stepson, Reynolds Farr, Denver, Colo.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Edith Hill, Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, George A. Becker, Everett, Wash., and Harry W. Becker of Maquoketa; one sister, Mrs. L. W. (Edna) Romer of Maquoketa with whom she has resided for the past ten years; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and a brother.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 17, at the Haylock-O'Hara funeral home with the Rev. Bruce A. Dean officiating.
