Death Summons Mrs. John Turner

Mrs. John Turner died at her home on North Main street Thursday afternoon and in her passing Maquoketa loses one who was a good citizen, a true wife and devoted mother.

Ariann Roush, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Roush was born in Farmers Creek township in Iowa, Aug. 27, 1860, and departed this life at her home on North Main street, Thusday Aug. 6, 1925 at 3.20 p. m., aged 64 years, 11 months and 21 days.

Thirty eight years ago on Aug. 22, 1887 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Turner of near Iron Hill. They lived in that neighborhood until in Jaunary 1918 when they moved to Maquoketa where they have since resided.

Four children were born to them. A daughter who died in infancy and three sons, Ward of Manterville, Minnesota, Murray of Emeline and Ray of Maquoketa.

Mrs. Turner was the last of her family as her parents and only brother died many years ago.

The deceased was a wonderful wife and mother, always having the interests of her family at heart. A true friend every ready to share her love and kindness with those about her. Ever willing to sacrifice in doing her best to live for her Master.

Mrs. Turner's health began failing over a year ago but only for five days was she confined to her bed. All was done to relieve her suffering but God bid her rest from the cares and ills of life and took her to be with him in the better world where there is neither sickness or parting.

Mourning her departure are her kind and loving husband who has cared for her so faithfully for the many months of her illness, three sons, five grandchildren and many friends and neighbors. Any one who ever made her acquaintance was her friend.

She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the W. C. T. U. of Maquoketa.

Services were held at the late home on North Main street, Maquoketa, Ia, Sunday, Aug. 9 at 2:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. D. F. Boomershine, with burial at Mt. Hope cemetery.
