Maquoketa Record, August 1, 1906:
Mrs. E.W.Coe of Clarence, Iowa, sister of Mrs. J.E.Squiers of Maquoketa, died at the Iowa Sanitorium last Friday morning of paralysis, aged 69 years. Two sons, one from Montana and the other from Missouri, reached here and accompanied the remains Monday morning to Clarence, where the funeral services were held. No services, except a prayer by Rev. Lockard, at the Squiers home, were held here. Mrs. George Mitchell and Mrs. Ralph Stephens, neices of the deceased, also accompanied the remains to Clarence.
