BELLEVUE — Robert K. Luckey, 84, of Bellevue, died Sunday at his home.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

He was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Hurstville to Harry B. and Edna H. Hurst Luckey. He married Mary E. Meyers on March 19, 1943, in Maquoketa. She died in 2001.

He graduated from Maquoketa High School and then attended Maquoketa Junior College.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and earned an honorable discharge.

He and his wife farmed in the Spragueville area from 1950 to 1965 before moving to Clinton. While in Clinton, he worked with J.I. Case and Hawkeye Chemical. He then was employed as a senior safety coordinator with C.F. Braun. They lived and worked in Delaware, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Illinois and California. From 1983 to 1987, they moved to Kuwait. They retired to Bellevue in 1987.

He was a member of Bellevue Masonic Lodge 51 AF&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason.

Survivors include his children, Sally K. (Duane) Marvin of Preston and Robert C. (Gloria) Luckey of Pueblo, Colo.; one brother, William (Mary) Luckey of Fond du Lac, Wis.; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice, Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandchild.
