ETTA FARR, JACKSON CO. RECORDER, DIES
Mrs. Etta Farr, 62, Jackson county recorder for the past five and one half years, died Wednesday afternoon in Jackson County Public hospital where she had been a patient for six weeks.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Carson funeral home and burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. The Rev. Lawrence Nelson of the Bellevue Presbyterian church will officiate.
Mary Henrietta Beaver, daughter of the late John and Sophia Dagitz Beaver, was born May 14, 1888 at Bellevue. She was married June 25, 1917 to Leo Earl Farr.
Elected on the Republican ticket, she was currently serving her third term as county recorder. She was a member of Maple Leaf chapter O.E.S. and of the Pythian Sisters.
Surviving are a son and a daughter, John Farr of Maquoketa and Mrs. Helen Crowley of Wellman; two granddaughters, and three sisters, Miss Lillian Beaver and Mrs. Minnie Woodward, both of Maquoketa, and Mrs. Lulu Rolf of Washington state.
