MRS. H. STANGE OF MAQUOKETA DIES SATURDAY

Mrs. Herman Stange, 70, died Saturday in the Jackson County Public hospital following a long illness.

Funeral service was held Monday afternoon in the local Methodist church with the Rev. Howard Beil of the Evangelical and Reformed church officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Mrs. Stange was born in Maquoketa on Jan. 9, 1880, the daughter of Harris and Melissa Sherman Tubbs. She was married to Herman Stange Dec. 14, 1893. They have always resided in this vicinity. They moved to Maquoketa in 1915 where she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Rebekah lodge and the Evangelical church.

She is survived by her husband; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Hodgin of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Addie Phillips and Mrs. Ida Penrose, both of Maquoketa and a brother, Fred, of Elwood.
