ALBERT LOITZ, 69, OF MAQUOKETA DIES
Albert Loitz, 69, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in his home following a three weeks' illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lutheran church. The Rev. H. Mueller will officiate, and burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. The Odd Fellow lodge will conduct services at the grave.
Albert Loitz was born in Germany June 24, 1873, the son of Frederick and Johanna Loitz and came to America and to the Maquoketa vicinity in 1881. He was married at Maquoketa Oct. 6, 1897, to Mary Schocker, who preceded him in death in January 1940.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Rebekah lodge and of First Lutheran church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Anna Beck of Maquoketa; one sister, Mrs. Carl Huebbe of Calamus; and two brothers, Fred of Maquoketa and John of Woodstock, Ill.
Preceding him in death besides his wife were two sisters and one brother.
