JENNIE LANE WESCOTT:
Jennie Lane was born in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa, June 5, 1883, and died at Wyoming, Iowa, August 9, 1905, aged 22 years, 2 months, 2 days. In 1887 she moved with her parents to Jackson County, Iowa, where she resided until Nov. 1, 1900, when she married J.W.Wescott, who with her two children, father, mother, and three sisters, survive her. The funeral was held at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Hubbard. Rev. J.D.Perry of the M.E.Church conducting the ceremonies. A large concourse of friends followed her remains to the Monmouth Cemetery where she was laid to rest. How true in her death are the words, "the old must die and the young may die."
