DEATHS- JACOB ZIMMERMAN

Jacob Zimmerman, 82, retired farmer, died in his home shortly before midnight Wednesday, following a two-month illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Carson-Balster funeral home, with the Rev. Howard Beil of the Evangelical and Reformed church officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.

He was born Nov. 20, 1864, in Maquoketa, the son of Fred and Margaret Sigmiller Zimmerman. On Oct. 20, 1897, he was married in Dubuque to Mary Magdeline Handel who survives with three sons, Walter of Maquoketa, Howard and Paul of Berwyn, Ill., and one daughter, Mrs. Helen Irwin of Lost Nation. He also leaves one grandchild. One brother and four sisters preceded him in death.
