MAQUOKETA - Mavis Joan Kyarsgaard, 75, of Delmar, died Sunday at her home.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

She was born June 25, 1931, in Maquoketa, to Edgar John Easton and Camilla Gertrude Sharp Easton. She graduated from of Maquoketa Community High School in 1948. She married Milton Eugene Kyarsgaard on March 27, 1949 in Maquoketa.

Mavis had worked for Clinton Engines in Maquoketa as a postal clerk from 1954 to 1977. She then worked as a secretary for Caterpillar in Mount Joy, from 1977 until retiring in 1985.

She is survived by her husband; two sons Dennis (LaVerle) Kyarsgaard of Sterling, Ill., and Jeff (Deb) Kyarsgaard of Delmar; one brother, Tom (Marilyn) Easton of Bettendorf; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Maxine Easton of Maquoketa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Memorials may be directed to the Delmar Fire Department & Rescue Squad.
