Gilmore.--On Thursday last, June 25th, passed from this life Mrs. Polly Gilmore, wife of Sam'l Gilmore of this place. Mrs. Gilmore was born on Jan. 4, 1828, in Butler county, Pennsylvania, and is therefore somewhat over eighty years of age. Mrs. Gilmore otherwise Polly Sroyer came to Iowa in 1853, and was married to Sam'l Gilmore on July 5, 1856. The family consisted of three children, two of whom are living, Mrs. Joel Reyner and Jas. Gilmore, now living in the west. Mrs. Gilmore was an active and consistent member of the Methodist church, an affectionate wife and mother, and leaves a circle of sincere mourners. The funeral was held Saturday morning, Rev. Davis of Monmouth officiating. Interment in Riverside cemetery.
