MRS. H. B. HARRINGTON IS CALLED BY DEATH
After many months of patient suffering and hoping that her health might be restored, Mrs. Herb Harrington passed to her eternal rest at 5:30 o'clock Thursday morning at the hospital in Rochester, Minn. Last October she went to the hospital in Iowa City where she underwent an operation for the removal of goitre. She returned home in January, very hopeful, and her health seemed to be improving for some time, but a few days ago she decided to consult Mayo Bros. in regard to her condition, and accompanied by two sons and her nurse, left Tuesday for Rochester, Minn. But the long journey was too much for one in such a weakened condition and she passed away a few hours after her arrival there.
Edith Devereaux was born at Blue Grass, Iowa, July 11, 1866, and when a small child came with her parents to Maquoketa wher she had since made her home. She was a graduate of M.H.S. and was united in marriage Sept. 1888, to Herbert B. Harrington and they were the happy parents of two sons, John B., of Charleston, W. Va., and Rex R. of this city. Two grandsons, Rex Jr. and Thomas Paul Harrington, and one granddaughter, Edith Louise Harrington will miss the love of a kind and indulgent grandmother.
The body was brought back to Maquoketa this (Friday) morning for burial, but funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
DEATH DATE: April 23, 1926
