FRANK C. CARSON LAID TO REST
Funeral services for the late Frank Carson were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F.C. Worcester. Interment was made in the family lot in Mt. Hope cemetery. Following is the obituary:
Frank C. Carson was born in Shellsburg, Iowa, March 1870, and died April 29, 1926 in Maquoketa, in which place he had lived since moving here with his parents, Dr. J.A. Carson and wife, in 1879.
He was an active member of the Maquoketa Izaak Walton League and one of the most enthusiastic sportsmen in this vicinity.
Mr. Carson's interest in sports and the welfare of his sons, with whom he was always a pal and a chum, caused him to be held in high esteem by his many friends in this community.
For several years he had been employed as the superintendent of the Maquoketa Bottling Works. he was a member of the Peerless Lodge No.60, Knights of Pythias.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth, who went over the great divide Sept. 2, 1903. He is survived by his wife, Mary Van Doren Carson, three sons; James Van Carson of Rockford, Ill., George Frank Carson of Maquoketa, William G. Carson and one daughter, Naomi P. Carson at home; also one brother, William A. Carson of Chicago and one sister, Mrs. Florence Wotring of Burlington, Iowa.
DEATH DATE: April 29, 1926
