DEATH OF FORMER CITIZEN
Relatives here have received word of the death of Andrew J. Baker, who passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Elmira Short, near Correctionville.
Born Nov. 12, 1872, in Woodbury county, he was the youngest of seven children of Andrew and Harriet Roush Baker, pioneers of Woodbury county. He came to Jackson county in 1898, on a visit to relatives, and liking the country here, he decided to remain. He was married April 26, 1899, to Miss Rosella Roe, and they lived on a farm in this vicinity for a number of years. His health failed, and he returned about three years ago to Woodbury county, making his home with his sister, where his death occured on March 9th, after an illness with heart trouble. Funeral services were conducted at Rock Branch and burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
He is survived by four brothers, Lorenzo Baker of Anthon; Edward of Seattle, Wash.; John of Moville; and Henry of Correctionville, and one sister, Mrs. William Short also of Correctionville.
