DEATH OF MRS. ED GURIUS
Again death has entered one of the homes in our midst and snatched from her loved ones, with very little warning, the wife of Ed Gurius of this city. A week ago she submitted to an operation at the Suthers home from which she failed to rally and passed away Friday morning leaving a heart-broken husband and two small children who will miss her companionship, helpfulness and tender care more and more each day.
Louise Roth was born November 13, 1878, and while a young girl she, with her parents, moved to Mitchell, S.D., where she was married to Ed Gurius and about 15 years ago they moved to Maquoketa. She is survived by her husband, one son, Donald, and one daughter, Louise, also two brothers, A.A. Roth of this city and Charles Roth of Mitchell, S.D., and one sister, Mrs. Anna Woley, also of Mitchell, S.D.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic church, where High Mass was celebrated by Rev. L. P. Craney. Burial was made in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery.
