GOTTLIEB BECK
The funeral for Gottlieb Beck, 96, Pershing Road, Maquoketa, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. at Carson Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald Gjerde of the the Maquoketa First Lutheran church will officiate. Mr. Beck died Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Jackson County Public Hospital. Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Gottlieb Beck was born July 17, 1884 in Maquoketa to John and Elizabeth Keck Beck. He married Meta Petersen June 6, 1906, in Preston. She died Jan. 24, 1975. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a son, Glen, Maquoketa; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Dorothy) Gruenwald, Delmar, and Mrs. Dennis (Eleanor) Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a brother, Henry, Maquoketa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, two sisters and five brothers.
