MAQUOKETA — Elaine Meincke, 93, of Maquoketa, died Saturday at Windhaven Elder Care Center in Termperance, Mich.

Interment will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

She was born Feb. 18, 1914, to Charles Franklin and Ola Ann Woodyard Dalton in Harvey. She married Howard E. Meincke on June 6, 1931, at Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport. He died in 1992.

She worked during World War II with Englehart Manufacturing Co., Davenport. She and her husband moved to Burbank, Calif., in 1949 where she worked in manufacturing and later worked in an insurance agency office. They moved back to Maquoketa in 1985.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia (Harold “Hal”) Wolf of Monroe, Mich.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, parents, six brothers and two sisters.
