Hiram Robbins

Hiram Robbins was born February 7, 1829, in Holmes County, Ohio. The son of Rachel and John Robbins, the second child in a family of ten. Of these only two survive, Mrs. Alberry, Maquoketa, and John Robbins., Meridian, Wisconsin. In 1858, he was united in marriage with Miss Permila Murphy, to which union six children were born. He settled in Jackson County, Iowa in 1844, where he has principally made his home. He was an honest, upright man, beloved by his friends. Three years ago he united with the Methodist Episcopel Church, Maquoketa, and has since been a member of the same. He was taken sick June 1st and died August 11th(1912) of apoplexy, confident in the protecting care of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Funeral services were held at the home of his son, John Robbins, August 16th at 10:00 A.M., where a large circle of friends gathered to pay their last tribute to the departed. Burial in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
