Marshall D. Watson died at his home in this city(Maquoketa) on August 16th(1912), after two years' illness from paralysis. He was born in Mercer County, PA, on February 28, 1844. He enlisted December, 1863, and served two years as member of Company G, 1st Regiment of Volunteers. In 1898 he was married to Jane Buriss, who survives. Deceased was an honest, industrious man and good citizen. Funeral services were held Sunday from the home, Rev. B.B.Kiester officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery. (Jackson Sentinel)
