ZWINGLE — Dorothy C. Stuhr, 80, of Zwingle, died Tuesday at Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

She was born Dec. 22, 1926, near Stanwood to Elmer and Alta Jackson Cruse. She married Darold L. Stuhr on Feb. 1, 1950, in Tipton. He died in 2004.

She graduated from Stanwood High School.

She worked as a teletype operator in the Cedar Rapids area until her marriage. She and her husband moved from a farm south of Lowden to a farm in the Otter Creek area in 1956. They farmed until their retirement.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa.

Survivors include one daughter, Dawn (Marty) Wagner of Dubuque; one grandchild; and one brother, Raymond (Donna) Cruse of Solon.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Camp Courageous of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
