LeRoy Allen Regenwether,

LeRoy Allen Regenwether, age 68, of Delmar, Iowa, went home to the Lord Sunday, March 11, 2007. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 16, 2007, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, March 15, 2007, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Burial will be at a later date in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

LeRoy Allen Regenwether was born on September 16, 1938 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Sylvester N. Regenwether and Ethel L. (Shields) Regenwether. He was a 1956 graduate of Delmar High School. He married Arlene Rae Teters on June 1, 1958 in Maquoketa, Iowa.

LeRoy began his career working for Farmers Supply in Delmar from 1959 to 1963. He then moved to Jacksonville, Illinois where he worked for Carnation until 1976. He then moved back to Delmar, and again worked for Farmers Supply, until he took a job as the manager at C & J Farm Service in Maquoketa, retiring in 2002 after 25 years of service. He had also owned and operated, with his wife Arlene, LeRoy and Arlene’s spraying company until 2002, and Lee-Ars Victorian Retreat since 1995. He most recently had been working as a manager of Crop Production Services in Delmar, Iowa.

LeRoy was a charter member of the Delmar Lions Club, a former Delmar City Council member, a former Delmar School Board member for many years, a member of the Maquoketa Masonic Helion Lodge #36 AF & AM, and the FFA board. He was an avid square dancer and was the vice president of the Double DJ Twirlers for many years. He also had been active in the Maquoketa Ag & Science program for many years, and had trained students for the AOEE program in FFA.

LeRoy was an avid golfer, and enjoyed basketball, NASCAR, grilling out and family outings. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and doing special things for them.

LeRoy is survived by: his wife- Arlene Regenwether of Delmar, IA; children- Rhonda Regenwether of Cedar Rapids, IA, Lynne (Mrs. David) Popp of Delmar, IA, & Scott Regenwether of Cedar Rapids, IA; 4 grandchildren- Alycia, Nicole, Nicholas & Lindsey; a sister- Mona Griep of DeWitt, IA; 2 step-sisters- Muriel (Mrs. Richard) Stapp of Sun City, AZ, & Carol (Mrs. Richard) Edwards of Elizabeth, CO; & 2 step-brothers- Asher Schroeder of Maquoketa, IA, & Karl (Sistie) Schroeder of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, & a niece- Cindy Berner.

A LeRoy Allen Regenwether Memorial Fund has been established.
