Dies Aged 64;
Funeral Held

George Wesley Ketchum, 64, of Monmouth, Iowa, formerly of Savanna and Thomson, died at 4:03 p.m. Friday in the Savanna City hospital. His death followed a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 oclock Sunday afternoon in the Law funeral home, with the Rev. T. Stuart Cleworth of Milledgeville, former pastor of the Savanna and Thomson Community churches, officiating. During the last rites Ronald Starr of Thomson and Miss Margaret Fields of Lost Nation, Iowa, sang "God Will Take Care" and "Old Rugged Cross", with Mrs. Raymond Phillips at the organ.
The casket bearers were Gilpin Stagg, David Young, Robert Hook, Dean Robinson, Ronald Bull, and Thomas Root. Burial was in the Savanna cemetery.
The flowers were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dalton and Mrs. Leland Housenga.
George Wesley Ketchum, son of John and Anna Martin Ketchum, was born Aug. 10, 1888, in Jackson County, Iowa. He was twice married. His first marriage was to Lottie James, who died in 1939. His second marriage was to Nellie Starr, in 1943, who survives.
He was a drill press operator for the Milwaukee railroad for eight years and a stationary fireman for the Savanna Ordnance depot for 14 years. Mr. Ketchum operated a cafe and recreation hall in Thomson for several years. He and his wife left 18 months ago for Monmouth, Iowa; where he was a retail grocer. He had many fiends.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. John (Lauretta) Klett of Thomson and Mrs. Hayes (Zelda) Frazer of Omega, Wis.; one Son, Omar Ketchum, of Thomson; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Fred Ketchum of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Frank Ketchum of Baldwin, Iowa; and other relatives.
