MAQUOKETA — Hazel M. Reel, 95, of Maquoketa, died Thursday at her home.

The body has been cremated. Private burial will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa Lahey Funeral & Cremation Services, Maquoketa is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Dec. 12, 1910, in Emeline to Daniel and Edith DeMoss Lindemier. She married Otto W. Reel on Nov. 27, 1933, in Oswego, Ill. He died in 1979.

She attended Emeline County Schools and graduated from Maquoketa High School.

She had been a receptionist for Dr. Risser, Dr. Ellis and Dr. Benson.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Pythian Sisters, a charter member of the Garden Club, the Jackson County Hospital Auxiliary and a 61-year member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Maquoketa.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis (John) Affre of Bettendorf; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials can be made to Jackson County Hospice or the Jackson County Humane Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sons, a sister and four brothers.
