Luverne Lydia Gray

MILES — Luverne Lydia Gray, 91, of Miles, died Saturday at Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility, Clinton.

Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Collins, to Emil and Lydia Wessel Feddersen. She married Chester V. Gray on Feb. 20, 1935, in Sabula. He died in 1981.

She graduated from Miles High School.

She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in Miles for many years, moving to town and retiring in 1961.

She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and actively participated in the Meals on Wheels program. She also did a lot of volunteer work with senior citizens in her community and the Women’s County Extension Council.

Survivors include a son, Ronald (Janice) Gray of Miles; a daughter, Mrs. Betty (Bill) Collins of Clinton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Feddersen Scholarship Fund.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
